AniEraser review: 8.8/10 in our ratings

AniEraser is the shortest documented path from a watermarked file to a clean export: upload, a rough brush over the mark, export. It rates 8.8/10 on our five criteria, wins our online watermark remover ranking, and one account from $9.99 a month works in the browser, on Windows and macOS, and on an iPhone.

What it is not is a specialist. On moving backgrounds users report ghosting where HitPaw has dedicated modes, and semi-transparent full-frame marks are a documented weak spot. Buy it for frequent quick jobs on any device; buy HitPaw for difficult video.

Is AniEraser worth it?

Buy it
Buy it if you clear a few marked files a week and want the same tool on your phone, browser and desktop.
Skip it
Skip it for footage with camera movement or full-frame semi-transparent marks: that is HitPaw territory.
Instead
HitPaw Watermark Remover (9.1/10) costs more but owns the hard cases: moving backgrounds, five removal modes, batch queues with a shared selection.

AniEraser posts the highest ease-of-use score of any remover we rate, 9.5 against a category average of 9.0, on the strength of a brush that tolerates a sloppy selection: the documented workflow assumes a rough outline, not a precise mask. Output quality at 9.0 sits above the 8.4 average, built on stills and static video marks.

Speed is the score to notice: 8.6 covers the full job including upload, and the three-step workflow has fewer stages than anything else here, which is why users describe it as the quickest first result. Batch at 8.2 reflects a queue that works but is serial, with a selection per file.

What AniEraser removes, job by job

The four jobs that decide the score, judged on the documented workflow and on what users report.

  1. One-tap removal on photos

Photos are the happy path. Text stamps and corner logos over walls, sky and product backgrounds are what the brush-and-fill workflow is designed for, and user reports on those cases rarely mention artefacts, even with a careless brush stroke around the mark. Tiled marks over patterned fabric are the documented exception, where the fill softens the texture.

This forgiveness is the real feature. Tools with better peak quality, Photoshop above all, punish imprecise selections; AniEraser assumes them.

  2. Video removal: quick on static marks, documented limits on movement

A fixed corner logo on a clip is the video case AniEraser is built for: one brush selection applies across the frames and the export comes back clean, by the pattern of user reports. Camera movement tells the other story: shelf edges and textures ghost behind the removed mark, and there is no alternative mode to switch to.

That is the line to buy on. Static mark, any device, AniEraser. Camera movement, the video ranking has one answer and it is not this one.

  3. The same account on web, desktop and iPhone

One subscription covers the browser version, the Windows and macOS apps and the iOS app, and Wondershare documents the same removal engine behind all three. Starting a job on the phone and finishing on the desktop is the intended pattern. Nothing else we rate does this.

The desktop app adds nothing over the browser except offline use and large-file comfort; the iPhone app is the one that changes behaviour, because it makes the tool the one you actually have with you.

  4. Batch behaviour past ten files

The queue processes files one after another with a selection per file, and there is no shared selection across identical marks. Users report throughput dropping noticeably on longer queues, so a real batch takes several times as long as HitPaw’s shared-selection queue.

For the couple-of-files jobs AniEraser is built for, irrelevant. For real batches, the batch watermark ranking is the page to read.

AniEraser pricing, free version and lifetime licence

Prices read off the Wondershare pricing page on 24 August 2026. Pricing is regional, so the figure at checkout may differ; one account covers all platforms.

AniEraser plans compared
Plan Price What it unlocks
Free $0 one edit per device A single full-resolution export to judge the fill on your own file
Monthly Our pick $9.99 per month Unlimited full-resolution exports on web, desktop and iOS
Yearly Shown at checkout per year Same access at a lower monthly rate; the figure varies by region

What the free version of AniEraser exports

One free edit per device, then every further export needs a plan. That is a trial, not a free tool: spend the edit on your own file to judge the fill quality, because that is exactly what it is for. There is no resolution cap and no added mark on that edit; the limit is the count.

The allowance is counted per device, so the browser, the desktop app and the phone each get their own single edit, which stretches the trial across your hardest file on each. For a working free tool on stills, the free watermark remover comparison lists the tiers with a daily allowance.

Monthly or yearly

The monthly plan at $9.99 is the figure we can quote; Wondershare prices the yearly plan by region and shows it at checkout, and it is the better rate for anyone who reaches for the tool weekly. The monthly plan only wins for a single project.

AniEraser and Media.io come from the same vendor but are sold separately, with no bundle on the pricing page. If browser-only removal with automatic detection of app marks is what you need, the online watermark remover ranking compares the two directly.

AniEraser pros and cons

  • One account works across web, desktop and iPhone
  • Brush selection is forgiving: a rough outline still fills cleanly
  • Short path to a first result: upload, brush, export
  • Free tier stops after one edit per device
  • Struggles with semi-transparent full-frame watermarks

AniEraser FAQ

Is AniEraser worth it?

Yes, for frequent quick removals: 8.8/10 in our ratings, the shortest workflow of any remover here, and one $9.99 subscription covering browser, desktop and iPhone. It is not worth it for moving-background video, where HitPaw is the only tool we rate with modes built for it.

Is AniEraser free?

Barely: one free edit per device, with no watermark added to that export. After it, plans start at $9.99 a month, with a yearly plan priced by region at checkout that is the sensible buy for regular use.

Does AniEraser work on video?

Yes, on static marks: a fixed corner logo is the documented case and users report clean exports. Camera movement is its limit; the fill ghosts where desktop HitPaw has frame-by-frame modes, and AniEraser offers no alternative mode to switch to.

AniEraser or HitPaw Watermark Remover?

AniEraser for speed, price and working from any device; HitPaw for difficult video, batches and manual control. They share a corporate family but split the use cases cleanly. If your marks sit still, save the money; if your camera moves, spend it.

Does AniEraser upload my files?

The web and iOS versions process on Wondershare servers, like every browser tool. The desktop app works locally. For confidential client files, use the desktop app or a fully offline tool.

What is the best AniEraser alternative?

For harder video, HitPaw. For staying free on stills, Dewatermark.ai with three image credits a day. For browser-only work with app-mark auto-detection, Media.io, sold separately by the same vendor.
