How to remove the Filmora watermark (2026)

The Filmora watermark is a large centred logo across the whole frame of every trial export, and it is designed to be unremovable by editing: it sits over the middle of your footage. The real fix is the Filmora licence: buy it, reopen the project, export again, and the clean render takes one pass. The annual plan starts at $49.99, with Wondershare’s own promotion applied at checkout.

A removal tool is the last resort, for a trial export whose project file is gone. A centred full-frame mark is the hardest removal case there is, and even HitPaw, the highest-rated tool in our ranking, is built for corner and moving marks rather than a translucent logo over the subject; users report traces over faces and motion. Keep the project file and you never need it.

Three ways to remove the Filmora watermark

Ordered by how clean the result is. The official route always comes first when the platform offers one.

Option A, official
Filmora

The licence unlocks clean exports retroactively: reopen any trial project and re-render without the mark, at full quality. Also the only route that fixes next week’s exports.

Option B, if the project exists
Re-export from the project file

The watermark is applied at export, not saved in your project. Any .wfp project re-exported under a licence comes out clean; nothing to remove.

Option C, last resort
HitPaw

For a trial export with no project file behind it. Expect visible softness where the centred logo crossed faces or movement; the free version previews the result before you pay.

Clear the Filmora watermark by licensing and re-exporting, step by step

The route that produces a perfect file, because nothing is reconstructed. Four steps including the purchase, and the render is the only wait. Plan maths in the Filmora review.

  1. Find your project file before anything else

Filmora saves projects as .wfp files, listed on the app’s start screen. If the project opens, you will not need a removal tool at all, whatever state the exported video is in.

  2. Buy the licence and sign in

Choose the annual plan, from $49.99 a year, or the perpetual licence at $79.99 list, both read off Wondershare’s pricing page on 24 August 2026, and log into the app with the purchasing account. The watermark switch is the account, so the login is what matters.

  3. Reopen the project and export again

Open the .wfp, change nothing, and export with your original settings. The centred logo simply does not render this time; the output is identical to your trial export minus the mark.

  4. Replace the watermarked copies

Swap the clean render in wherever the trial export went, and delete the marked copies so they do not resurface later. Future exports on the licensed account stay clean automatically.

Why Filmora watermarks every trial export

The trial gives away the full editor and charges at the door: every feature works, and the centred logo on export is the price of leaving without paying. It is deliberately placed mid-frame, over your subject, precisely so that no crop and no easy removal tool can rescue the file into a free full version.

The flip side is honest: the watermark lives in the export step, not in your work. Projects, edits and media stay untouched, which is why the licence clears old projects retroactively and why Option B costs nothing but a re-render.

Licensing and re-exporting is the intended product; there is nothing to justify. Cleaning a trial mark off your own footage with a removal tool is also your own content, edited by you, the case this whole site covers.

Where it tips over is using removal to dodge the licence entirely: exporting trial renders and stripping the mark as a workflow means using software you have decided not to pay for. Beyond the ethics, the results are worse: the centred mark damages every removal attempt, and the licence costs less than the time spent fighting it.

Filmora watermark FAQ

How do I remove the Filmora watermark from my video?

Buy the licence, reopen your project file and export again: the watermark is applied at render time, so the licensed export is clean at full quality. A removal tool is only worth trying when the project file is gone, and the centred mark makes even the best tools struggle.

Does the Filmora watermark disappear if I buy the licence?

Yes, retroactively for anything you can re-export: open the old trial project under your licensed account and render again. The already-exported trial files keep their mark, the projects do not. Future exports are clean as long as the account stays licensed.

Can I remove the Filmora watermark without buying Filmora?

Only with a removal pass over the exported file, and expectations matter: the logo spans the centre of the frame, so reconstruction shows on faces and motion. HitPaw’s AI mode is the option most likely to give a usable result, and its free version previews it before you pay. For anything beyond a casual clip, the licence is the honest answer.

Why is the Filmora watermark in the middle of the video?

So it cannot be cropped or cheaply erased. A corner mark dies to a crop; a centred translucent logo overlaps your subject in most shots, which is exactly what makes trial exports unusable commercially and removal tools underperform on them.

Does Filmora watermark videos on the paid plan?

No. Licensed accounts export clean, and the licence also unlocks clean re-exports of old trial projects. If a licensed export still shows the mark, the app is signed into the wrong account; logging in with the purchasing account fixes it.

Is it legal to remove the Filmora watermark?

From your own footage, yes, and licensing is the route Wondershare intends. Using removal tools systematically to avoid ever paying for software you rely on is licence dodging; it is also more work than the annual plan costs.
